UPWARD Sports is a first-class experience that emphasizes healthy competition, sportsmanship, skills building and fun. We would love to have you on our team! 1st UMC of Blanchard will be sponsoring basketball and cheerleading this winter.
Enrollment forms can be picked up at the First United Methodist Church or the First Baptist Church of Blanchard, the Blanchard Elementary, Intermediate or Middle School, and at various businesses in Blanchard.
Ages: Kindergarten (5 yrs old) thru 6th grade
Cost: $75.00 (includes uniforms and other items)

Orientation has been moved to Sat, Nov 13th from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon in the Christian Life Center.

Way-Out Wednesdays (W.O.W.)
Way Out Wednesdays (W.O.W) will be starting at our church on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. What is W.O.W.? It is an after school program that will be sponsored by us every Wednesday during the school year to teach children and their families how to be healthy—mind, body and soul--for a lifetime. Along with a lesson each week that will enrich their soul, we will be implementing the CATCH curriculum. CATCH (Coordinated Approach To Child Health) is an evidence-based, coordinated health program designed to promote physical activity and healthy food choices, and prevent tobacco use in children from preschool through grade 8. Each week the students will leave our program with a heaping plateful of knowledge that will enhance all aspects of their lives.
W.O.W will be offered to grades Pre-K through 5th from afterschool to 5:30 p.m. every Wednesday when school is in session. Transportation will be provided to intermediate students each week. Elementary students will be encouraged to participate in Walking Wednesdays and transportation will only be provided during inclement weather. Registration for this free program will be available beginning September 17th. Applications can be picked up at the Blanchard Elementary or Intermediate School and the First United Methodist Church.

CONNECT is the name for our Sunday evening Praise & Contemporary Worship Celebration. Due to the holidays, we will only have CONNECT worship celebrations once a month in November and December. Our CONNECT Celebrations will be on Nov 14th and Dec 12th. There will be a dinner (no charge) at 5:30 pm. The Connection Praise Band starts playing at 6:20 pm and the service starts at 6:30 pm. After worship, we meet for dessert and fun. We would love to see you!
