Our creator blessed us with abundant food for the nourishment and health of our bodies, but like the Israelites in the wilderness, rather than eat the manna that was provided we desire foods more pleasing to our taste buds and more convenient for our fast pace life style, thus the influx of "fast food". Unfortunatly, the consequence of poor diet choices, has been our health. In 1901, the United States was classified as the healthiest nation in the world among one hundred nations studied. In 1981, we had dropped all the way to ninety-fifth place. In 1988, the Surgeon General of the United States found that 80% of all the disease in our country could be directly linked to diet. A Major part of our nutrition counseling service is therefore committed to education in the basics of proper diet and nutrition

Unfortunately, even if we make all the right food choices, we may still need to supplement nutrients for a variety of reasons. You've probably heard the saying, "you are what you eat"? To be more accurate, we might say, "you are what you are able to absorb of what you eat and what you are unable to detoxify or eliminate. Besides the foods being produced on nutrient depleted soils, sprayed with insecticides, picked too early, then shipped, canned, or worse processed, we have the problem of inadequate digestion and detoxification. We have toxic chemicals in the air we breathe, the foods we eat, and the water we drink. This toxic burden can overload our immune system and affect not only our immune system, but our digestive system, detoxification system, and every other system of the body. On top of all that, the chemicals we have to take in the form of pharmaceuticals can also cause depletion of vital nutrients

We are each as unique on the inside as our fingerprints and our appearances are on the outside. One size does not fit all! Discovering the right program for you requires some detective work on the part of our board certified clinical nutritionists, Terri Hurst. Private consultations are available that include symtomalogy questionaires, appropriate labs, and interviews which allow Terri to get to know who you are. Our goal is to treat the individual rather than a disease because we fully realize that "wellness" can only be obtained by treating the "whole" person. Your individualized "wellness program" will include diet and life-style recommendations, supplement protocols, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, essential fatty acids, enzymes, botanicals, etc, and homeopathy.
