September 2007: A victory for a consumer, one of Louis Dells clients, fought to protect his credit score and unanimous three-judge panel of the U. S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals slammed one of the big three credit reporting agencies for such carelessness, stating "no rational jury could find that the company wasn't negligent," and directing the award of damages and attorney fees.
July 2006: A Los Angeles Mercedes-Benz area auto dealer sold a lemon to a client of Mr. Dell. An amicable settlement was reached with the dealer taking back the lemon, returning all of the client's money plus extra for rentals, insurance, and other damages.
May 2003: Brian Dells client was arrested for domestic abuse after the clients wife showed police the marks and bruising on her arms. A jury found Dells client Not guilty when the jury was shown that the marks and bruising could only have come from the client holding the wifes arms to prevent her from continuing to hit him.
February 2003: A client of the Law Office of Louis P. Dell was recently charged with 70 counts of burglary and prescription forgery, facing a maximum of 24-years in prison. After extensive investigation and the use of a question document examiner, Louis was able to negotiate a sentence of only 6-months.
February 2003: A client of the Law Office of Louis P. Dell was recently charged with possession of counterfeit U.S. currency with intent to distribute. Louis showed that his client possessed the currency as common novelty items and as a result, the jury came back with a not guilty verdict.
April 2003: A former heavy weight boxer was facing a child support debt of approximately $140,000. Louis successfully negotiated an amount down to $26,000. Needless to say, the client was very pleased with the outcome.
April 2002: A client slipped and fell at on a restaurant handicap ramp, breaking her leg in several places. She was hospitalized for several days and also spent time in a convalescent facility. Louis and Brian first retained an engineer to analyze the ramp structure to locate material defects in the construction and design of the ramp. They next coordinated a team of medical experts to explain how debilitating the client's injuries were. The matter settled for $400,000.00.
March 1996: A federal jury awarded damages to Brian Dells clients for violating civil rights for excessive force used by a Stroud, Oklahoma, policeman. Additional damages were awarded for unreasonable and warrantless search of property and for malicious prosecution arising out of the complaint that fireworks had been set of near their home. The 4 ft. 10 in. woman was wrestled to the ground and arrested, as were her husband and minor child.
July 1990: An unarmed teenager was shot in the back by a policeman and killed. Brian Dell represented his mother in federal court for excessive use of force, a civil rights issue. Expert testimony was used to show the deliberateness of the policemans actions. The mother was awarded actual and punitive damages and attorneys fees and costs, following a five-day trial and appeal.
