First American Bank in Norman, Purcell, Maysville, Taloga, Woodward, Moore, South Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Banks

First American Bank is turning 75!

Let the celebration begin!
First American Bank is turning 75! After first being chartered in 1935 in Purcell, OK, First American Bank has grown to 9 locations around the state serving Maysville, Purcell, Goldsby, Norman, Moore, Oklahoma City, Taloga and Woodward.

History of First American Bank
Although First American Bank's charter is officially dated November 12, 1935, we can trace our roots back to Indian Territory with the incorporation of the Purcell Bank and Trust in 1905. That entity prospered until 1935 when it merged with the First National Bank of Washington to form the First State Bank of Purcell. In 1960, First State Bank changed its name to First American Bank and Trust Company, which was later shortened to First American Bank. In 1990, the bank was purchased by its present day owners - the Mayes Family.

While the bank's charter rests in Purcell, it could rest at any one of its locations. Management does not consider the bank as having branches, but as a bank with multiple footprints. Each and every location offers full service banking so the locations are called banking centers rather than branches. Our customers are very diverse - ranging from farming and small business owners in our rural markets to commercial real estate specialists and business entrepreneurs in our suburban markets.

The First American Bank family would like to thank everyone in each of our communities who has made these 75 years so amazing and we look forward to serving our great communities and our great state well into the future.
