Dr. Paul Callegari is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He began practicing plastic surgery in 1992 as an Assistant Professor at St. Louis University. He has been in private practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1996. Dr. Callegari achieved a Bachelor of Science degree and his Medical degree at the University of Toronto. He trained in general surgery and then performed the Fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the University of Alberta. He has performed additional fellowships in breast surgery and cosmetic surgery at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., hand surgery at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and microvascular surgery in Melbourne, Australia. He holds the Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Callegari is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association. He is also a member of the American Association for Hand Surgery. He has published articles in plastic surgery journals and he has presented scientific papers at national meetings.
Dr. Callegari also wrote a chapter on TRAM Flap with Pre-op Delay for a new textbook entitled Surgery of the Breast: Principles and Art, that has been available since October 1998. He is now in the process of updating this chapter for the 2nd edition of this surgical textbook.
