Hospice of McAlester, Inc. is a state licensed, Medicare certified non-profit agency which serves the people of McAlester, Pittsburg County and a 35 mile radius of McAlester. Founded in l99l, Hospice of McAlester provides care and compassion to people in the final phases of illness so they may live life as fully and comfortably as possible.
THE HOSPICE PHILOSOPHY
Many of us have helped care for a sick family member or friend at home. Although the care we provide sometimes will not result in a cure, we continue to care and help. This is the philosophy behind hospice care. Hospice provides efficient, loving care to individuals who are believed to have a limited life expectancy.
Hospice of McAlester is a physician-directed, nurse coordinated team of health care professionals providing these services. Hospice minimizes the pain, distress, fear and isolation the patient and the family may encounter. Patients and family members are visited in the patient's place of residence.
