On October 17, 2005, the "Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act" known as BAPCPA became effective. The act makes it more expensive and more complicated for those seeking relief in bankruptcy. New provisions define anyone giving assistance to debtors as "debt relief agencies". We are considered a debt relief agency, because we give assistance to those needing debt relief by using the bankruptcy code's provisions to relieve debtors from burdensome debt.
Gerald R. Miller has been in continuous practice in Muskogee, Oklahoma since 1979. He has served as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee in the Eastern and Northern District of Oklahoma since 1993.
