Thanks for visiting our website at First United Methodist Church , Durant. We are a vibrant and growing church with a mission to be the head, the heart, and the hands of Christ.

We strive to help people to grow in their relationship with God. We encourage that growth beginning at membership and then continuing through a process we call Spiritual GPS. We offer a variety of opportunities to chart a faith course such as two distinct worship styles, Sunday School, both long-term and short-term Bible studies, spiritual growth retreats, and mission opportunities. We believe God loves you where you are but also loves you enough to not leave you there!

Be sure to check out our website for the various ways to become involved in our church. We have wonderful ministries for children, youth, and adults. Opportunities are geared for al ages so it doesn’t matter if you’re 1 or 100. There is a place for everyone to come and experience God’s grace.

is currently accepting applications for:
Director of Children’s Ministries
•Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the
children's ministry including Sunday school,
nurseries, children's church, Kids for Christ,
vacation bible school, etc.
•Recruit, screen, and train staff and volunteers
within the Children’s Ministry, including Nursery
Director, Nursery workers, and volunteer

•Work with the music ministry in coordinating
children's music programs such Christmas and
Sunday worship times.
•Communicate to the congregation, both verbally
and through newsletters and the church website
about children’s activities, projects and needs.
•This is approximately a 30 hour per week

Applications and job descriptions are available
from the church office between 9:00 am and
4:00 pm Monday through Thursday.
