A Community of Believers Being Conformed to the Image of Christ
Thanksgiving
For many centuries, different people groups around the world have paid homage to the Earth for good harvests through fabulous banquets and times of celebration.
In America, we observe Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November. In Canada, it is celebrated on the second Monday in October. In China, the August Moon festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. In Rome, the harvest festival is celebrated on October 14th. And in Korea, it is a three-day celebration thatbegins on the 15th of August.
No matter where you are in the world, Thanksgiving is an important part of life. It is good to take time to give thanks to our Creator for all He has done for us and blessed us with.
Thanksgiving is more than food, family, and football. Its a time in which we should renew and enjoy family relationships. Its a time in which we should carefully appreciate all of lifes blessings. Its a time to say thank you to our heavenly Father for not only being our Creator but also our Sustainer and Provider. And more importantly, it is a time to thank Him for providing our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
This Sunday,in our message from Luke 18 entitled Family Matters, we will seek to discover ways that we can strengthen our family relationships. Why? Because family matters!

Life Chain – October 3, 2010
A Peaceful, Prayerful Event in Support of Life
Week of September 9, 2010
I want to express my thanks and appreciation for all your prayers, cards, and visits while I have been recuperating from my ACL knee surgery. It has not been easy for me to be down and confined to the house for these past 2 1/2 weeks. Thank goodness I had a wonderful nurse (thanks, Sandy) to help me through the hardest days so far. Yes, this ordeal has taught me great patience, but there is still a lot to go through as I continue to rehab the knee in the coming weeks.
I also want to thank those who have filled in for me in the pulpit while I have been gone Kyle Megenity, Dwight Winburn, Randy Ratliff, Jim Wingerd, and Ted Naman. Its truly a blessing to have so many talented and gifted men who can fill in and boldly preach the Word of God. Thanks, men, for a great job!
Many of you have been asking about taking a church trip to the Holy Land next year. I have been working on plans for such a trip and am now ready to have an informational meeting for all those who are interested in going on this once in a life time trip to walk where Jesus walked. On this trip we will also visit the amazing and ancient rock fortress at Petra, Jordan.
The information meeting is scheduled for Sunday, September 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Come and get the information about the trip and then make plans to join us on this wonderful trip of a life time.
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9 (NASB)
